A stuck lid should not end the meal. The right tool uses leverage or a motor so you do not have to squeeze.

Best if hands are weak
Mount it once. Wedge the lid in the V and turn the jar. You are not pinching the lid. Best everyday solution in a house you own.

My recommendation
If you can put two screws under a cabinet, get an EZ Off or G-Grip. If you rent, start with OXO. Add an electric opener only if twisting still hurts.
Run hot water on the lid first. That free trick still works.
